Jon Venables is Back in Prison, Why Was He Let Out?
My very strong views on the murder of James Bulger and the complete and total miscarriage of justice by our Penal System.
Jon Venables is back in prison! Why was he let out?
In 1992 Jon Venables and Robert Thompson murdered James Bulger a two year old boy from Liverpool. This murder has been written about extensively and personally by me. For those of you who don’t remember this particularly heinous and cruel murder, I will run over the key elements of the case and the latest development.
James Bulger was on a shopping trip with his mother in Merseyside in 1992. They were shopping in a busy shopping centre. James’s mother lost sight of her son for a split second. In that spit second Jon Venables and Robert Thompson pounced!

James Bulger
James was abducted by Venables and Thompson and lead away from the shopping centre. Holding James by the arms they lead him through the streets whilst repeatedly punching James in the face! Once the two murderers reached open ground they continued their heinous assault on the helpless boy.
James Bulger was beaten with bricks and metal poles, the poor boy was streaming with blood from serious head injuries. Paint was poured in James’s eyes to blind him. Eventually when Jamie lost consciousness the murderers laid his broken body over a railway line and the next train that came along cut James in two!
Jon Venables and Robert Thompson were sentenced to an indifferent stay in prison with a recommendation for eight years minimum sentence. The general public was up in arms of disbelief at the light sentence given for such a truly horrendous murder. The boys sentence was increased to fifteen years.

Holiday camp style prison.
The European Court of Human Rights subsequently over turned this sentence in favour of the earlier sentence of eight years! The two murderers were released after they served their minimum sentence of only eight years.
The killers Venables and Thompson were given new identities and had received an “A” level standard of education at the tax payers expense! The pair were released in 2001. The world began to forget this vicious murder, except for James’s poor parents. Myself and other writers have never forgotten this miscarriage of justice of the highest degree.

It seems I have asked before….what or who is the European Court of Human Rights? This seems like a continental court becoming involved in a national issue. I hate being ignorant on this matter. Of course, I agree with your assessment of the capital crimes issue but I can’t let this court thing rest.

I’m taking up too much space but this thng is getting to me. Who authorized the European Court of Appeals? Who appointed the judges. Sounds like the U.N. If so, it’s a bunch of crap. Get off your crippled hip and sit in the House of Lords and voice this dumb court out of existance.. Where is the Bristish press corps? I know. I’ve interviewed some of them. ‘They’re the wimps of the business.
