La Escuada

Virginia has been home to many gangs and such. Now the gang activity is being evolved into something more; something more like the Mafia. They have similar rules that this gang utilizes that are used in the Mafia. 

The creator (which for legal reasons I can not display his real name) who goes by the name of “The Don” is a very smart man. Throughout his time, he has only had one perjury charge. He is not well known for what he does because the gang activity is very discreet. Any member caught giving away information is delt with accordingly. “The Don” created this gang back in 2001. “La Escuada” is Spanish for “Death Squad”. This young African American male had received his bachelors degree in criminal justice, but afterwards everything changed. He begin selling drugs and doing solo work, then he started La Escuada and started making real money. It is estimated that this gang has generated over $6 million in the past 2 years alone.

There are rules, as in any other organization. Here is a list of rules in La Escuada.

1. No snitching (also known as omerta in Mafia). Probably one of the most important rules to be established.
2. Obedience- You must follow what the others with higher ranks than you. If you do not, consequences may be severe.
3. Unity- La Escuada is a brotherhood or a covenant. You must unify as a family. Family is a symbol of strength.
4. Revenge- Any attack on one of yours is an attack on you as well. You must avenge an attack on a member of the La Escuada. Avenging your family makes a stronger bond.
5. Respect your elders- Not necessarily respect your elders, like your grandma, but more like respect those who have been in La Escuada longer than you have, for they have more experience than you.

The ranking system is sort of a mafia type thing. The following is a list of rankings in this group.

1. The Boss- Also known as “The Don” (which is ironic because the guys name is “The Don”)
2. Right Hand Man- Second in command of the entire gang. Appointed by The Don, he is the leader of all operations and only answers to The Don.
3. Warlord-Kind of like a seargent in the army. He carries out assaults and other forms of violence against enemies. He leads a group of soldiers and they must obey him. He may not plan an assault without The Boss or Right Hand Man’s consent. In this gang, it is said that Warlords are paid for their work. They are also responsible for recruitment.
4. Soldiers- The beginner stage of the gang. You follow whatever those over you tell you to do with no question. As you “put in work”, you will be recognized and your rank will rise.

As it seems, this is a very sophisticated gang with smart rules and regulations to prevent any trouble coming their way. They aren’t well known on the streets because they don’t wear obvious things like bandanas or certain colors. They actually wear stuff such as skulls, angels, demons, etc. Basically they wear anything that is associated with death and the afterlife. They also wear Spanish clothing with Spanish phrases. Anyone is welcome to join this group but many people fail to prove themselves to The Don.
