Person of Interest grips the viewer within the first ten minutes with intrigue and action. What appears to be a homeless man is approached by a bunch of hoodlums on a subway train. They decide to harass him, but, he responses with tactical moves that leaves all of them on the floor of the subway, and ultimately in police custody.
Police Detective Carter, played by Taraji P. Henson acknowledges that this mysterious man was more than a bum, but, had to be a highly trained operative of some kind. Before she can get any information out of him, men dressed in black; obviously with some kind of pull, have him bailed out and take him to meet another mysterious man.
We, then, learn that the identity of both men. Our near ninja is ex-CIA John Reese, played by Jim Caviezel, whom was thought to be dead, but, his battle on the subway broadcast his photo worldwide and this group recognized him. The man who is calling the shots, identifies himself simply as Finch, played by Michael Emerson. He seems to know more about John Reese than he knows about himself. He asks him to join in with him and his group to stop crimes before they are committed. John Reese refused, but, Finch doesn’t take ‘NO’ for an answer.
