Profit and Gain
An analysis of profit and gain.
Profit and gain are two major factors in society that are often synonymous. Profit and gain are fixtures in today’s society and oftentimes the driving force behind individuals as well as businesses. Many people tend to believe that profit is gain and vice versa and that profit and gain spell wealth and prosperity. However, the ramifications and consequences of profit and gain may not always signify wealth or prosperity.
Take weight gain for instance. An extra 20 pounds or more is not profitable if intensifies medical conditions like diabetes or maybe high blood pressure.
Consider the thief and stealing. Theft may increase the wares of the thief; it can even be considered illegal gain, but when you think about it, where is the profit? A thief is a criminal, a character of ill repute. Ill-gotten gain or profit, although widespread, is not widely accepted by society as morally correct.
How about the con and con artists? Cons are analogies for elaborate thieves basically. Cons use their skills, intelligence, and all their powers to deceive and coerce. Their profit or gain is merely superficial and usually fleeting.
Society places a lot of emphasis on profit and gain and yet when the Menendez brothers killed their wealthy parents to inherit a fortune, society gasped. Spouses kill each other for insurance policies and society is shocked. The Internet is overflowing with programs that advertise profit and gain in big bold letters and disclaimers in letters so small that many people overlook them all together. Numerous crimes can be traced back to profit and gain. Consequently, a society that obsesses over profit and gain should not be surprised at the consequences.
Greed is the ultimate consequence of obsessing over profit and gain as well as one of the seven deadly sins. Wealth is the end component of profit and gain. It may not be counterproductive to place less emphasis on profit and gain and more emphasis on the ramifications of obsessing over profit and gain. Wealth should not always be associated with material possessions. Prosperity should not always be measured through profit and gain.

It might work for awhile but greediness will usually take a person down in the end.
