Protecting Personal Data and Prevent Cybercrime

Protecting personal data and prevent cybercrime.

Every day, dozens of people become victims of attacks that are perpetrated by criminals who may act individually or in organized networks. They, assisted in most of their victims, are experts in deception and theft.

Oamenii nu isi protejeaza datele personale

People do not protect personal data

Security firm Sophos recently published a report confirming that hackers are using personal data posted on various social networks (Facebook, Twitter, etc..) To commit crimes related to credit card fraud, identity theft or obtaining illegal information.

While people were advised over the years not to launch on the Internet, personal data privacy can cause harm, they ignore the warning. Cybercrime possibilities are almost as unlimited as those of virtual space. Let us be aware of this is the first defense. The most common cases of cybercrime are on credit card fraud, identity theft, scams to “catch data” or lure children.

The report’s authors noted that since the beginning of 2008 has increased by four times the number of sites containing malaware programs, of which 14.7% are in China and 39.6% in the U.S.. The most frequent cases in which there were data integrity issues were the personal electronic transactions (online shopping, banking, etc..).

Important for our data remain safe is to be extremely cautious about what data released on the internet and email do not respond to phishing sites that we are requested personal data, contract data cards or codes.

nice and well-written article. You provide very useful information and I hope those who read this will be more aware of the harm that might befall on them if they are not vigilant with their online transactions and divulging of data online.
