Roman Polanski The Rapist: Leave The Racist Pig There

     Roman Polanski is a pig.  You’ll get no argument from me on this subject.  Convicted in 1978 of Child Molestation, rape by use of drugs, and sodomy.  If you are unfamiliar with the story of this disgusting rapist, he was convicted of these charges with a 13 year old girl as his victim.  A plea agreement was made, which the judge said later he would rescind.  Roman Polanski at that point fled the United States for France, and has remained gone since.

     But now, Superior Court Judge Peter Espinoza has ordered that Polanski be returned to Los Angeles to face sentencing.  And offers us a perfect example of one of the problems with our legal system.

     Sex Crimes are a serious issue, more so with children involved.  But this isn’t about cracking down on Sex Crimes, or bringing a sex offender to justice.  This, in fact, makes a mockery of the issues… because this is just a sick stab at publicity.

     If Roman Polanski returns, it’s going to cost a great deal of money.  And in a case where the victim is also begging leniency for Polanski, who is still a significant celebrity, the sentence will be moderate to say the least.  In  fact, experts predict that Roman Polanski will receive a ‘time served’ sentence for the 60 days he served in a Swiss jail, followed by a period of house arrest at his vacation home.

     So if this is allowed to happen, here is what will happen:  Roman Polanski will return to the United States.  At a cost of millions of dollars, There will be a circus of a hearing, at which point everyone will smile for the cameras, thus beginning likely political careers, and we will tell Roman Polanski that his vacation getaway was more than enough punishment for drugging and raping a 13 year old girl.

     There will be press conferences galore, with words like Justice tossed around for sound bytes.  A firm and powerful message will be sent; don’t get raped by a celebrity, because nothing will happen.

     Leave the pedophile rapist scum there.  Let’s not allow him to be a political tool.
