Stop Trying to be Me (Identity Theft)

You work hard for all of your accomplishments, don’t watch it vanish.

Why would someone pretend to be you and pilfer the little you have saved your entire life.  Once you are a victim of identity theft it’s hard to sort out all the damage that’s been done.

Don’t make it simple for the opportunist, shred all important documents before discarding, also be extremely careful when using your credit/debit cards.  Crooks are smarter than you think.  A device has been created which will duplicate the information off your credit/debit card once it’s been swiped, and transfer it to a blank card which will enable the thief to steal your identity.

You might want to sign up with a company that will protect you from this sort of thing.  www.lifelock.com or contact the nearest Identity Theft Resource Center(ITRC).

The other day I caught you

 going through my trash,

searching for some secret info

 you thought I had stashed,

but little did I know this was your

clever way of tapping into my cash.

It’s a shame you didn’t slip on a banana

and get a sever case of whiplash.

Why are you so desperate to be me?

Concocting evil schemes to steal my identify

have you no morals, no pride, at what

point were you stripped of you dignity.

No matter how you slice and dice it,

it won’t do you any good.

you’re an identity thief and not

Russell Crowe in Robin Hood.

Just to let you know, I brought

myself a shredder the other day.

I’ve worked hard for my belongings, I

won’t allow some crook to take it all away.

You might find some other means to steal

my identity, and live like a fat rat in a cheese factory.

One day you will get caught and locked up

and I will personally throw away the key.

This happens to more then one thinks and undoing it is a time consuming process.I dont have much but what I got is all mine.
A great article letting us know to be careful as identity theft is growing by leaps and bounds.Looks like a shredder is on my needs to get list when finances allow me to.

Big plus on the shredder: the paper can be used as an organic mulch, used to make home-made paper, or even to stuff craft items that do not need washing. Fun poem, excellent reminder.

This is very useful advice, there are conmen out there lurking for any opportunity to steal and cheat, we need care over the fruits of our hard work

excellent subject to wake us up to. I have a large can in my back yard where I burn the shreds & repel mosquitos at the same time. Elderly identyties are a comodity on the black market now a days.

This is great advice to avoid identity theft. We have to do everything that we can to make sure that others don’t get the chance to steal our identity. I also loved the pics that you used.

It is scaring but crooks are willing to go to any length to achieve their selfish ends. I blame all this insecurity on technological advancement.
