After a few drinks in town, my friend Rob and I decided to go to McDonalds for a burger before we headed home.

We ordered the food and sat down ready to sink our teeth into a Big Mac and large fries. I noticed Rob looking at a stranger who was staring back at him. I turned around and asked him what his problem was. Rob told me to keep out of it as the stranger obviously had a problem with him.

We continued to ignore him and as Rob took a large bite out of his burger, he was punched in the side of the face, causing the burger to hurtle through the air, across the restaurant until it slid down the display window.

The stranger and his accomplices ran off while we checked the CCTV behind the food counter to see if we could identify the perpetrators. Unable to do so, the police were contacted and we drove around the town centre in a police van, but were unable to find them.

Rob went to hospital and was diagnosed as having a perforated eardrum. We both went home feeling a bit shaken up by the whole experience.
