The Most Notorious Psychopaths in History
List of people who are known for their cruel and violence behavior.
She was an unwanted child. She was a person longing for love all his life. Ironically, her lover, Shelby, the only person she believed loved her became one of main witnesses who testified against her in the court. She was sentenced to death and executed in October 2002.
Gilles de Rais

Lived in 15th century, this French nobleman was one military captain in Joan of Arc army. His victims were mostly young blond haired and blue eyed boys aged eight to 18. He raped, tortured, murdered and mutilated around 80 to 200 victims. His story was the subject of several books.
One of Rais’ servant testified that Rais’ biggest passion was to bath in his victim’s blood. Rais would stab the victims in the vein and let the blood squirting all over him. He loved to see the agony of the dying. He decapitated his victims after death and asked his servants to pick the fairest one. He held the chosen head high and admired it. Afterwards, the mutilated body was burned in a fireplace. The burning was slow to maximize the smell because Rais also enjoyed the smell of the burning bodies.
His actions came to light in 1440. That year Rais abducted a clergyman. This abduction triggered an investigation started by Bishop of Nantes. The investigation revealed much darker secret of Rais. He was hanged in Nantes in 1440.
Charles Manson

He established a sect in California in the late 1960s and declared himself as a Prophet. His followers were mostly young woman with troubled family relationship. He instructed his followers to do some killings including the murder of famous Hollywood actress Sharon Tate and her guests. His story was the subject of a television movie.
Born as Charles Maddox, he was raised by a single mother. His mother often sold him for a pitcher of beer. He was imprisoned in 1951 for burglary and 1958 for pimping. Soon after being released from his second imprisonment, he started to have the female followers. The family of Manson was then formed. Inspired by the Beatles’ song “Helter Skelter” he intended to start a race war. Manson and his followers stabbed and shot his victims to death. Following a much publicized trials he and his followers were variably sentenced.
John Haigh
Haigh did his killing in England during the 1940s. He was known as the “Acid Bath Murderer” because he dissolved his victims’ body in sulfuric acid. He claimed to have murdered nine people but only convicted for the murder of six of them. After he murdered his victims, he forged papers and sold his victim’s possession for his benefit. His first victim was his former wealthy employer. When that employer’s parent started to questioning Haigh on their son whereabouts, they were also murdered. Forensic examination confirmed Haigh as the killer. Haigh was sentenced to death and executed in 1949
Ted Bundy
His story was the subject of a television movie and a book both titled “A Stranger Beside Me”. The book was written by Ann Rule. Following a long period of constant denial, he finally confessed to have murdered 30 young girls from 1974 – 1978. He raped and killed his victims by bludgeoning or strangulation. Sometimes he decapitated his victims with hacksaw and kept the severed heads in his room. After some time the heads and the remaining bodies were dumped in Taylor Mountain. He visited and re-visited the bodies in Taylor Mountain frequently. He applied make up to the corpses and had sex with the decomposing bodies.
He attracted many attentions in the court when acted as his own attorney and cross-examined witnesses. He made marriage proposal to one of his witness before the judge. Despite his entertaining performance in the court, the jury found him guilty. He was sentenced to death and executed on January 1989 in the electric chair.
Javed Iqbal Mughal
No one knew of his crimes, until Iqbal sent letter to the police in which he proudly declared that he had murdered 100 boys in Punjab Lahore, Pakistan. He also stated that he had no regret for it. He picked boys from the street and drugged, raped and eventually strangled them to death. Iqbal kept the clothes and shoes of the victims as trophies of his crimes. The dead bodies was cut into small pieces and kept in drums full of chloric acid outside his home until the remains were fully dissolved. After his 50th murder, he started taking pictures of the victims.
He was sentenced to death, but before the execution took place, he was found strangled with his bed sheet in his prison cell in 2001. The authority declared that he had committed suicide.

It’s a sad truth that some people seem to be born without any conciousness of right or wrong. It must be that some brains are malformed while in the womb.Either that or something so horrible happens to these young children that it causes the brain to malform.

Very good article… extremely interesting. I always wonder how it is that people come to be that way. Is it an animal instinct? It’s like wolves that are born and raised in captivity… they’re still wild.
I wonder if the same thing applies to adjusting to society.

Per the Bible, everyone has a conscious. However, some consciouses are seared. IMO, a lot of demon activity with this bunch you have listed. I will quickly add that though there is demon activity, these people were still accountable for what they did. God will handle them.
With that, it is comforting to know that the Word of God indicates that Christ will one day return. It is then that the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the Lord.
Even better than that is the promise of Revelation 21-22.
God bless,
Pete

I noticed that most of them are either neglected or abused as a child. Not that this means that they can do what ever they feel like, but it says a lot. People need to stop and think before they mis use a child, they might produce a monster.

Wow.. what a scary monsters these ******** are! It is so dangerous to let children out these days.
Execution in electric chair isn’t common across the world. Good writeup

Everyone, I have something to tell you, if you think these individuals are monster, there are other monsters out there that is destroying humanity. These monsters are responsible for the epidmec crime of gangstalking. Your same agencies such as FBI, CIA, NSA, have psychopaths that are destroying human beings through gangstalking. If we are to put a stop to this, all of us need to unite, and get the word out about these monsters.

Such evil people have walked earth..they needed to be put down like a sickly animal you hunt.
Either way not all psychopaths are serial killers, its just a common trait they have..also a pyschopath tends to kill more organized while a sociopath will not..just to clear that up a little..although, there are always exceptions.

Ugh *shiver*. These guys were terrible. What’s even worse is that 1% the world’s population (66,920,303 people as of 2008) are also psychopaths, and although not all of them kill or commit grisly crimes, all of them are umempathetic, feel no guilt, and consequently and don’t give a darn if their actions are right or wrong, as long as they serve them. What’s even worse is that these people are really good at hiding themselves, making themselves seem like normal people.
However, I, like most everyone here, also have a fascination with the macabre. It’s fascinating to study cases like these and attempt to construe how anyone could do anything so heinous.
I would hypothesize that this fascination is really a survival instinct instilled within all humans so that we could learn more about it in order to better defend ourselves from it, but then I would just be making excuses.
Anyway, this was, on the whole, a most horrifying yet fascinating read that has inspired me to do a little research of my own on these types of people. Thank you!

Very informative! I think the driving force why they become like that is how they raised by their parents or worst when they were abandoned when they were still very young and also their environment is another factor.
Thanks for sharing. I enjoyed reading this. I am only familiar with Charles Manson, Albert Fish and Ted Bundy.

People dont understan psycopaths are everywhere ive found some videos online that are horrible i wish ive never seen it but i have theres the girl and guy that kid nap people and kill them the post every day and have never been caught i cant remember the site if i could i would find some way to turn it in they kill every day and have no remorse its horrible and there not the only ones its everywhere and happens everday what makes it so hard to catch them is that they dont care about being caught they target people that cant be traced to knowing them like one video i saw the guy and girl walked in to this ladies house and killed her her husband and there son they guy cut his stomach open and pulled his guts out and then they left no real motive other then the just felt like it with no real motive its hard to pin point who did it it could be some one that lived right next to them or the pizza man people go missing everyday its because there are more and more people like this they all those missing people you see in stores i can almost garantee they are dead

What about good old Jack the Ripper and Ivan the Terrible? Oh and who can not consider Vlad III or Vlad the Impaler- The arguable first vampire. I guess it would be too hard to include all the historical psychopaths….Though I think our definition over time has changed because I can think of many a few political leaders of the past that can be said to be psychopathic….

putting Charles Manson in this list is ridiculous. he did not kill anyone personally. And you are missing the 2 biggest ones: Ivan the Terrible and Vlad Tepes.

@it I agree 100 procent..
And what about djengis khan?? he was worse than most of the above put together..
Someone mentioned that about 1 percent of the population are psychopaths…that’s the worst bullshit I’ve ever read.
There are estimated 1 psychopath for every million people.
There’s a lot of people amongst us with some sort of mental disorder, that can cover everything from antisocial behaviour to wankers in public toilets and narcissisme etc… but true psychopaths are rare..thank god for that:-)
