What Jail is Like and Why You Don’t Want to Go There
A Inside perspective of what you go through in jail and the thoughts of someone in prison.
You carry on making your bed, finding ungodly stained sheets that look to be as old as the puke green paint on the walls that have been there since the early 60’s. After your bed is made you put up your toiletries, hang your razor from the window in the door next to your spoon. You take a whiff of the small stick of deodorant which in all of gods wonders manages to make you smell worse. You ponder at the effectiveness of the handle less toothbrush and the watery tooth paste.
After getting everything settled in and conversing with your new roommate, you realize you have nothing to do. At least not until you get to come out of the cell or you get to spend some money at the commissary on some over priced items. You can order things like pens, pencils, paper pads, and a few snack foods and toiletries. Like good smelling deodorant shampoo and shave cream.
Then you get fortunate enough to go through a “shake down.” Everyone gets cleared out one by one and put into handcuffs or zip ties putting everyone into separate areas. This of course is after they burst in like a heard of stampeding bulls. They then begin to throw everything around searching for “contraband.”
During your lovely nap time you are enjoying since you have nothing else to do your door pops open and its time to eat. The food resembles a cross between processed food and dumpster leftovers.
You will spend the entire time watching over your shoulder and carefully watching what others are doing so you can protect yourself if you need to. Bottom line, It is not a fun place to be.
