Why are Today’s Teenagers More Violent?

It has came to everybody’s attention that the number of teenagers involved in gun and knife crime has increased in recent years.

But the question is, why are today’s teenagers committing these terrible crimes, which have brought on so much Anger and devastation to the communities of which we live in.

Are todays teenagers influenced by today’s latest video games and media, displaying violence and death. Should the age rating increase to prevent teenagers attempting to copy there hero’s actions in reality? leading them further to cause an injury to themselves, or the people around them. What they are hearing and seeing on television, add to the influence of there friends is a possible social cause.

Another theory, says that teenagers are committing these crimes, in order to gain attention from there fellow friends or family member. A teenager showing that they are capable to “stab or kill” someone around them, can give them a reputation of being unbeatable, in power or in today’s slang “Hard!”.

Are guns and knife’s too available to these teenagers? the average price for a shotgun is £50 to £200, (price declared on an official website). Hardly an unaffordable price for a teenager! when they can play the same price for the latest trainers or video game!

To conclude, Gun and Knife crime involving teenagers is a fast rising problem and we should do everything we can to prevent the causes and killings in todays communities.
