Rape is not a biological urge, it is the opposite of what keeps people healthy physically, mentally and emotionally making it completely unnecessary for social functioning, reproduction or survival.

Perhaps boys/men/everyone needs to be better informed about this so they stop being confused and stop making up excuses for it.

Aslamoalaikum, i think simple thing is that, both the biological and the environmental causes are responsible, biological factors aren’t dominating at once but when the person finds no rules in society in which he is living which is his environment for a particular problem he commits that act and after encountering this his biological factors starts dominating.these flaws in society then gave him the power of doing that act and a rapist person is a criminal not a patient in true sense because he has ruined or destroyed life of a person who is surviving in the society.This person who is willing to do crime is obviousely a man, not in all the cases because there is sexual desire in women either less or more.

Having a Criminology degree, I can assure you that your thesis here is wrong. Nice try, but these are nothing but your own opinions. If you want a suggestion, do some research on the subject and then rewrite your essay. It is an important topic, and the well documented facts should be clearly stated – even if you have alternate theories (as do some psychologists) of the reason. In addition, there is Female on Male rape, in addition to female perpetrated pedophilia, although both are at a much less degree statistically than with male perpetrators. The “causes” of rape – and I can also assure you that is is not a “disease” – are worthy of a properly researched presentation.

Men are more sexually active than women. Most men feel the need to dominate because they are stronger. And sometimes it\’s the woman to blame also, but not always. They rape women because of 5 reasons.

1. They feel the need to dominate.
2. They feel women aren’t equal to them
3. To relieve stress.
4.To Procreate
5. And for biological reasons

I agree with Fiona! being a RAPIST is NOT the same as a person who wants sex or more sex than they r having, i mean, come on! most men can satisfy themselves in numerous ways and wouldnt dream of rape! The priests who were raping young boys in Ireland etc were not men pineing for the sexual fulfillment of being with a woman and if they wanted to break the rules, they could have gon out and found a woman to have consenual sex or a relationship! Rape has no place in the animal kingdom, not among higher-developed animals anyway, if a female is not in season, males do not resort too rape! nor do they rape their offspring! Rape is an evil act, men who rape women or chidren have the devil in them, they are destroyers of souls&lives, monsters! it is about a violent act against someone weaker.

Most people who have never had sex before generally suffer from rape related thoughts..i.e the sexually starved people..
.Which means that guys need to controll in the following ways:-
1.) Best option:-Full control i.e no sex wid any gal till marriage.
2.) 2ns best option:-Have limited /controlled sex with their girl friends.(Nowadays in India, it is easy to get a girl to say yes).
3.) 3rd best option;- If not any of the above 2, then gfo for a call girl to satisfy the lust,
4.) This is the last option that men resort to i.e to take what is not theirs…i.e rape women (Not recommended-GOD is watching ! ! ! )

But the 1st is the best option the as the the tendency of raping a woman will increas if u go to option 2 and 3.

I understand that this is an opinion article, but there needs to be research put in to any article; especially one as sensitive as rape. Honestly, I feel that this is quite slanted and mildly offensive.
Yes, some times rape does have something to do with an overpowered sex drive, but in that case, a person can go out and find a consensual partner. Saying that rape is an outcome of an overactive sex drive is very much like saying that if a man rapes a women while drunk, it’s a consequence of the alcohol. It’s really just shifting the blame.

The fact of the matter is that rape is a product of control. Men are psychologically more controlling than women. It goes back to the roots of our “hunter/gatherer” origins and even the laws of that which until very recently were the basis of our society.

Rape, very often, isn’t about sexual desire at all. It’s all about control and the need to completely dominate another human being. Sometimes, sexual stimulation is derived from the idea of control, but the root of it is very rarely a sex drive in its own.
