Zero Crime in a Day
by Crime is a number one problem worldwide. Why not make our world a better place.
Today, my current company celebrates a safety day. The event is raised to achieve the target of 1 million man hours of no loss time due to injury or damage of property. It is nice to hear that a high risk company reaches this figure sooner or later.
This event became significant to me after hearing the news about former Department of National Defense Secretary Angelo Reyes death. The event is a private sector initiative to avoid death or any serious threat to the environment at all. It is nice to hear that internally we commit to zero accident daily. But after going out of the premises, the real world is filled with plenty of death due to crime, accidents and natural calamities. So the event made me think that is it possible that our Country would have the same celebration? A million hours which the country would be committed to avoid killing. This could be possible to other country.
In Philippines, I heard that Many Pacquiao created a legend after sending all the Filipinos in front of TV and no crime death committed on that day.
A call for peace, They would fight for peace then why would they fight if they want peace. Such an Ironic statement. Ammunition, bomb and various wedges developed to kill lives and promote peace and order. I hope there could be a month where in the news would have hard time to fill their air time because of zero crime, accident or calamity. Or there would be an International Day of Zero crime from which every people would be committed to comply.
