Alexander Mcqueen: Fashion God; Legend

     As most everyone already knows, the passing of fashion God, Alexander McQueen, was not just a major loss to the future of the fashion industry, but a tragedy as a whole.  Due to the loss of his mother and inability to move on from her death, the horribly depressed legend decided and carried through his tragic suicide. 

     Despite the crushing blow of the loss of an amazing artist, and the tragic story behind the deplorable acts of life and death for this fashionista, more disappointing is the loss of an amazingly creative life.  I will outline some of Mr. McQueen’s most famous,  infamous, and some unknown items, and bring some light to the God of material- Alexander McQueen.

     Although most people think Lady GaGa was Alexander McQueen’s main muse, this would be an incorrect thought.  There was another lady however that you can attribute his fame and fortune or plainly, the discovery of his amazing talents and funding in the beginning of his career to- Isabella Blow.  It actually has been argued that Lady GaGa has stolen several looks from Isabella Blow

     Isabella Blow was a tributary muse to Mr. McQueen.  She was also the one who first discovered his talents and funded the beginning of his career.  She unfortunatley suffered from Depression most of her life and finally succumbed to suicide in 2007.   

     Despite all the tragedy and loss he had to overcome, his designs were immediately inspirational and his perhaps insane fashion idealistics were something more original that anything we have seen before, for this he holds a top spot as a fashion God. 

     Most infamously, his armadillo shoes gained major notoriety as the shoes several models refused to walk in.  The daring models that decided to step out on the runway in this particular fashion-changing item, were right to follow their instincts (whilst carefully walking, of course). 

Unfortunately, the shoes are named after the original source, armadillo.  I refuse to wear anything made of animal because I think its cruel to kill animals for the use fashionable outfits when we can find a more suitable and probably very similar material non-harmful to our surroundings (like chemical free cotton but we’ll get into that another time).  Once again, more images of Lady GaGa wearing McQueen’s creations:

     Some of his most impressive fashionable abilities can be attributed to his inane knowledge of the dimensions of a woman’s body and due to his ability to incorporate the design of his entire outfits into his shoes.  Some of his other beautiful peices in my opinion include his angel shoes, shoes that could be described as skeletal molds, and other very interesting and different shoes.

     The detail paid in every outfit is undeniable.  For this, Alexander McQueen remains legendary in the fashion industry.
