Cremation vs.. Burial
We are now facing the new generation’s way of burial.
If you know that your time is near, would you be ready for cremation? Cremation or burning of the dead is becoming a popular option for our beloved ones. With my father’s death a few months back, his siblings are pushing us to have a cremation for him. It would be less painful in our pocket and they could bring the ashes to the province so that other family members could pay their last respect to him. But we stand strong with our decision for a burial because of petty reason but I’m sure my father would want it. When he was still alive he wanted to die peacefully but still good looking. How could that happen if we let him to be burned? He has so many apprehension with regarding the process because he saw some of his closed friends on the said procedure. He think it is unfair because the body is already dead but like killing it once more through fire.
One of my officemate told me earlier this day that mourning for a piece of jar seems to be senseless. She wanted to see the body of the person in attending a wake. In my opinion, I would choose a cremation for a dear one if he/she would ask for it when he was still alive. But if he/she did not ask for it, I would opt for a burial even it is far more expensive.
But still here in the Philippines, my home country, we prefer burials because in that way we can show how the dead really mean to us.
