Death is Bad

About suicide and why it’s bad.

“Ugh. Far too many people dying for any reason.” – Osmond Brinson

I agree that 123 people being shot to death in Chicago this summer is a scary statistic when compared to the Iraq War. Yes, it’s double the number of Iraq casualties.

But there are much more startling numbers we need to confront.

More Americans will commit suicide this year than soldiers will have died in the line of duty since the Iraq War started but we don’t read many articles about that since it doesn’t help win an election.

In fact, more Americans will commit suicide this year than will die by homicide.

In two days we’ll kill more babies than the casualty count since the Iraq war started. In a year it will match all the wars combined.

Those are the numbers we need to confront. And not these politically expedient numbers.

If we’re so concerned about life then why do we ignore our friends and family who are unhappy and ready to take their own life and our unborn children?

We need to stop pretending that the only lives that matter are armed soldiers, when far more people will overdose on pills, put a gun to their head, or be ripped apart by a suction tube.

That’s something we can help prevent right now.

You make this article carefully supported by fact. Subhaanallaah! Keep on writing!

Anyway, homicide is prohibited by religion.

a little simplistic. many suicides are unexpected and those who kill themselves cannot see any way out and often have a downward spiral of depression. it is too easy to say help them and they’ll be all happy and lightness. you treat abortion like a simple black and white subject which it is not.
