Do We Want to Meet Our Death Before Time?
Paradoxically, we have a lot of problems in our society and more of them were caused by ourselves. Has intelligence led to mankind’s idiocy?
An Alphaville’s song says: “Forever young, I want to be forever young (…)Why don’t they stay young, it’s so hard to get old without a cause. I don’t want to perish like a fading horse. Youth is like diamonds in the sun and diamonds are forever”
Life expectancy is longer than ever before. It isn’t difficult to answer why.
Technology has contributed to increase length of time that a person is expected to live and technology is based on knowledge . But, has technology made our lives easier than before? Or, perhaps more comfortable? Which is the role of Technology in the future?
Through history the concepts of elderly and youth have changed, because life style has changed too. But, what is the future of life expectancy?
In part, each of us decide how to live, don’t we?
It’s a paradox that we have a lot of problems in our society that affect our lives and more of them were caused by ourselves. We could say a lot about environmental problems, wars and their effects to world in general, and human beings in particular.
We could mention a lot of other human problems:
- diseases that are caused by stress;
- sedentary life style causes health problems;
- obesity and the unhealthy effects in our bodies and minds;
- violent crime is reaching epidemic proportions around the world;
- the number of traffic fatalities is increasing everyday;
- drug abuse is the cancer of societies;
- deep depression, anorexia, bulimia and other mental illness; and so on
So , what will happen with life expectancy?
I have no intention of explaining human problems vastly, but I do try that we reflect that we must do something. We are so intelligent for some things but so idiot for others! Has intelligence led to mankind’s idiocy?
Well, you must be asking what can I do? We do know the answer, but usually, we don’t want to see it.
Firstly, we would have to understand that the change is in each of us. We must change if we want a better world and a longer life expectancy.
We would have to watch our actions and decide how to live our lives. Perhaps, our self changes modify people behavior!!
Someone says: “why think? Why not try?” Why not begin now? Don’t be the spectator! Live this life now and for many years!!!

You have exposed some serious thoughts here. Made me remember a text very popular online, attributed to different authors, “Paradox of our time in History”: “The paradox of our time in history is that we have taller buildings, but shorter tempers; wider freeways, but narrower viewpoints; we spend more, but have less; we buy more, but enjoy it less…” and continues. Added you like you asked and by the way ur question has been asked before the answer is mankind’s brain is developing faster than his soul. we are smart enough to get out of caves but dumb enough to kill each other with nukes. Our own carelessness has, and WILL lead to our destruction if we don’t take charge and live right, plain and simple

Do not fear death, as it will happen to everyone at once.
