Eerie Stillness
Life must welcome death..
It was indeed the darkest time of the night,
all the lights faded out of sight,
you could even hear death sigh, faintly,
and death was a dark mass,
with tremendous height,
my eyes fixed on it,
and I would not have been able
to put up a fight,
I moved away
to give it some space,
but it didn’t want it that way,
so it kept pace,
I turned toward it slowly,
and it stood there,
it just stood there,
as my fear went into full gear,
I just watched it’s eerie stillness,
as if I were not even alive at all,
then a soft voice would call,
it came right out of the darkness,
I’d listen again, as the terror would hit,
I felt a longing for death so strong,
that it took all my strength to contain it,
having felt that, I knew it was wrong,
then I knew it was time,
and no matter how death takes it,
it’s never guilty of a crime,
and as far as I could see,
life had to be set free,
it could never be isolated,
I too must welcome death,
even tolerated,
right to my last breath,
I then released a quiet moan,
death replied softly,
and its voice assumed the most gentle,
sympathetic tone,
no sadness was ever shown,
Liked it
