Fear of Dying, or Living?

People always have an opinion on death. It doesn’t matter if you are afraid to die or if you are just waiting for it to happen, you should always remember that it’s there.

Death is something we all have to deal with at some point in time. Some people are fascinated with death and that seems morbid to others. Some people acknowledge that it will happen. But there are also some that are afraid of it, they hope and pray it won’t happen. To look into each catagory would show you the extremes of the concept known simply as Death. So why waste and start at the top of my list.

The fascination with death or in other words, a morbid obsession, is what some may call sick, unmoral and wrong. I, however, see it differently. Death happens every day, everywhere and no one can prevent it from natural death and natural disasters to murder and genocide. The idea that there are people in the world that don’t see other people as living, breathing beings, is a psychological mystery to me. I am intreeged by the mental state of the convicted. I wonder what would bring a person to do such a thing and think about the trigger that set them off and started the death. That is human nature, to think and analyze the situation, but I then get into the gore of it. I always want to know more, the details of the act. That is a fascination with murder, death and the process of killing. Now I’m not a psycho killer or scary person, I simply have a “morbid obsession.”

To step back and look at people who have accepted that death will eventually happen, they seem a bit more relaxed and content with living. This is the middle of the extremes. People would accept it have usually had a close loved one die and have got past the initial pain. They have realized that nothing could change the way things turned out and are now okay with it. They don’t fear death but they love living just the same.

Jumping over to the other extreme we see fear. This can some times lead to an irrational fear and cause panic in certain situations. People with a fear of death have not yet been told that they will die, no one knows when, but it will happen. The reason for their future death are unknown. They could live to be 80 and have a heart attack or just stop breathing at the age of 35. People who have this fear tend to be over bearing, paranoid, have sever social anxiety and often times don’t have a set faith or religion.

To put this more into prospective for you readers, death is normal but so are extremes. You may fear it, love it or just be fine with knowing it’s there, any way you think about it you still are only human.
