How Many Lives Do We Live?

Do we have only one life to live, or do we have to climb a ladder of “lives” to actually get to heaven?

Have you ever thought about the after life, or our life before? What is heaven really like? Do we just pass away go to heaven where there is peace forever; as a Catholic that is what we are made to believe, but after reading so many articles right here on Triond.com, I have begun to wonder and different thoughts have crossed my mind!

There are so many people who go about complaining how life stinks and yet there are so many who are content or even very happy with their lives, it makes me wonder if this is the different levels of heaven and hell?

It started me thinking, if I was one who had a horrible life, I mean I was ill, my family members were ill, and others had so many misfortunate events going on in their life; could that be the bottom level of hell! Then depending on how we deal with that life will determine if we move up a level, or stay in the bottom level of hell? If we move up then how many levels are there?

How about the person who is happy no matter what, even when sickness strikes or a family members die at the great age of 99; is that a level of heaven! Then I began thinking about the levels in between, what would those levels be like; is getting to heaven like climbing a ladder?

Then I started thinking do we take our, emotions, thoughts, or feeling from our previous life into the life we are living today. With all that said I have found myself smiling more, helping people more, and genuinely concerned for other human beings, not because I want to get to heaven, but because that is whom I have grown up to become.

My early life was not the best when I thought about it then, but when I look back I realize that it was not bad, it was harsh; but without the discipline that I had to deal with I may not have survived my teenage years. Do I think this is heaven? No! Is this hell? No!

Even so I wonder what life and death is all about, and I don’t know if there is a sure way to find out! It is all very interesting!

I really enjoyed your article. I have wondered what Heaven is like too. I think that it is a beautiful place. I have also found myself wondering if we really do get to be reincarnated.

I think about this myself. I do believe in the possibility of reincarnation. It would be difficult to imagine how we could learn enough in one lifetime to be entitled to eternal bliss. I think it’s possibly we gradually expand our level of consciousness over many lifetimes. Each lifetime is like graduating to a new grade level where we meet new challenges and learn new lessons.

Wow, I have always wondered if I would be reincarnated myself. I was always wondering if I have a life before and was it as good as my life right now. I love my family right now and I don’t know if i had one before that. So i’m just saying that I love my family and friends right now. They say once you’re reincarnated, you don’t remember anything of your past. They also say when you die they take you to heaven first, and then they look at your left shoulder and see how many bad things you have done. After that they look at your right shoulder to see if you done more good things than bad things. So i’m just saying keep up the good work. I also love this article.
