The corporal’s body was found when his colleagues went to his house to inquire why he was late to report to work.
According to Provincial Police boss, Aggrey Adoli dismissed the claim that the corporal committed suicide saying that he died a natural death, as there was no evidence of suicide.
Sources say during the past days, the corporal seemed disturbed, “when we first knew him he was a in good health until of late when he started to drink a lot of alcohol”, said the source.
The body was taken to Pandya hospital morgue awaiting an autopsy results to determine the cause and manner of death.
Lately, incidence of police committing suicide has been on increase with many people asking the need of carrying out medical assessment on the officers.
