Strangest Ways to Die
The strangest deaths in history.
I like the TV show on Spike 1000 ways to die. Watching this show one night inspired me to look up some of the strangest ways people have died. Boy did I find some weird ones! So buckle up and enjoy the ride of strangest ways to die!!! Australian Hans Steininger was famous for having the world’s longest beard (it was 4.5 feet long) and dying because of it! One day in 1567 there was a fire! In his haste Hans forgot to roll up his beard. He accidentally stepped on his beard, stumbled broke his neck and died! Wow!!!

Have you ever had to pee so bad you thought your bladder may explode? Well a Danish nobleman and astronomer Tycho Brahe knew just how this felt. It was said that Tycho had to hold his pee in during one long banquet in 1601. Getting up in the middle of dinner was considered very rude. His bladder strained its limits, and he developed an infection which later killed him.

Now I know there are days when I slack off in house work, but never as bad as my next story. Homer and Langely were compulsive hoarders. The two brothers had a fear of throwing things away. They even set booby traps in corridors and doorways to protect themselves from intruders. In 1947 an anonymous tip called saying there was a dead body in the Collyer house. The police had a hard time getting into the home. They found Homer dead and Langley nowhere to be found. It took 2 weeks to remove nearly 100 tons of garbage from the house and then they finally found Langley’s partially decomposed (and rat-eaten) body just 10 feet from the area they found Homer. Langley had been crawling through tunnels of garbage to bring food to his paralyzed brother when he set off one of his own booby traps! Homer died several days later from starvation.

My next story SHOCKS me. In 1991 a 57 year old Thai woman Yooket Paen was walking in her farm when she slipped on cow dung, grabbed a live wire and got electrocuted to death. Right after Paen’s death, her 52 year old sister Yooket Pan was showing her neighbor’s how the accident happened when she herself slipped, grabbed the same live wire and also got electrocuted to death. Now that’s some bull s#$@*!!!

The police didn’t know whether or not to believe Brian Wells on the afternoon of August 28 2003. Brian Wells was a pizza delivery man who tried to rob a bank with a home-aide shotgun disguised as a cane. When he was caught by the police. Wells told police that he had been forced to rob the bank. The police found that a necklace with an explosive device was attached to his neck. As the police stand there trying to figure out what was going on, the bomb exploded, and his head blew up!!! There is controversy about whether or not the police waited to call the bomb squad because they didn’t take him seriously. Also it’s unclear whether Wells was a victim, a co-conspirator or the lone perpetrator of the robbery and subsequent death.

The saddest death is also the strangest death is beloved Steve “The Crocodile Hunter” Irwin died when he was stabbed in the heart by a stingray while filming a documentary Ocean’s Deadliest. Isn’t that ironic.

Doesn’t this make you just sit back and think??? Wow!!!!

Being a fan of Darwin Awards and other things of a bizarre nature I had heard of most of these deaths before. One that was new and caught my attention is the Brian Wells story. I found an exceptional web site that details it in depth.
