Us Army Has Alarming Suicide Rate

A study to determine the leading causes of suicide since 2004 was also released in which the US Army claims that American soldiers are often more dangerous to themselves than to the enemy.

The Pentagon recently reportedly admitted that an increasing number of American soldiers were committing suicide. Authorities suggested that perhaps more soldiers die of suicides and self-destructive behavior than in combat, these days. A 300 page US Army report, considered to be just the tip of the ice-berg, reveals that in one month more American soldiers committed suicide than they did in 30 years.  In June 2010 alone 32 soldiers had reportedly taken their own lives, which is about the same rate that occurred during the infamous Vietnam War.  In 2009 the Pentagon registered 385 unnecessary soldier deaths. Of these allegedly 239 were suicidal and 146 were high-risk behavior-related. Most of the deaths were directly and indirectly associated with troubled relationships, prescription drug abuse and drunken-driving. The report did not include the alleged suicides that were carried out in other defense services, like the Marine Corps.  A study to determine the leading causes of suicide since 2004 was also released in which the US Army claims that American soldiers are often more dangerous to themselves than to the enemy.
