Are Penny Pinchers The Cause of Our Economical Breakdown?
Are penny pinchers the cause of our economy? Is your saving helping or hurting our economy?
Is saving helping or hurting our economy? I’ve been hearing some conflicting viewpoints and I just wanted to share them with you.

Sometimes I hear news casters blabbering about people being afraid to spend money. Is that what’s causing our market’s steep tumble into the murky waters of financial disaster? They seem to think that if people weren’t afraid anymore the economy would improve drastically. I just don’t understand why they think people going back to old evils, such as maxing out their credit cards unnecessarily, is a good thing. Wouldn’t that push our teetering economy back over the edge?
At the same time, other news stations are giving tips on how to conserve your money. There are thousands of different plans to save money flying around. Saving money seems like a smart choice with little to no negative impact on others.
If you assume that the first paragraph is correct.. is the second counterproductive?

I thinks it’s good to do both and shop around. Don’t just accept a price.

I would pinch my pennies…if I had any to pinch
However, I do try to find the very best prices on everything from groceries to the big stuff.

I think people are pinching their pennies because they have no faith in our leadership to solve the problem. The fact that our leadership thinks more government intrusion is the answer doesn’t sit well with a lot of people. That and the anti-rich sentiment being encouraged in people.

I think that people not spending is a part of it but I think an even bigger part is the fact that regardless of what the unemployment agencies say, there are tons of people unemployed and the few people who still have jobs are doing their best to conserve in fear of losing their jobs.
If more people had jobs and weren’t afraid of losing them then I’m sure people would be spending more but you can’t spend what you don’t have and if you do, it will mean trouble for you in the end.
