Bailout or Showdown: Led by the Nose 3

During the day, with all the announcements of the failure of the credit market, the demise of the tourist/airline industry and the collapse of everything we have held dear, I stop and ponder, what’s going on in this world today.

Decades of avarice and greed have finally taken their toll, and we are in the process of realigning almost every aspect of our lives.  It is seemingly the expression of the caste society that has been created worldwide where responsibilities for life and happiness have been replaced with the constant concern for money and what it can bring us.

During the great depression, there was an urbanization of the world that took us away from family values, where each one was there for the other, and yet allowed family members to grow and excel.  The family farms and the mom and pop operations have become a thing of the past and government subsidies and bailouts are the outlook for our future.  Taxes are climbing on goods and products while the federal government is calling for a tax decrease in Internal Revenue, meanwhile, state taxes, sales taxes, sin taxes and other hidden fees have taken the place of any tax breaks the federal government can give us.

The lottery in many states was to support education and other essential services; instead, they have created a country dependent on that dream of immediate wealth and status from the purchase of a lottery ticket.  As medical and lifesaving technology skyrockets, so does the cost of the care, leaving many unable to receive what are considered essential services for life these days.  Hidden documents, secrets, wretched excess culminate in a total chaotic existence.

I do remember the days of the family garden, filled with veggies, good things for all of us.  People lived to ripe old ages, worked and were able to provide.  Mothers stayed at home and took care of the family needs and were respected.  Fathers brought home the bacon and provided spiritual and moral lives for their families.  Today, Mothers and Fathers work and expect others to care for their children, which have created a cottage industry, full of negligence and loneliness.  Values cannot be taught because the parents are not there to teach them.

Buck, on the whole I agree with you,and they are lofty ideals. But I grew up one of those commune flower children Do you not remember that glorious govtof ours shot down its own citizenry for disagreeing.
As for your response toward the oil companies and the other global corporations seriously going green all I have to say is be careful of the wolf in sheeps clothing. Do you honestly believe that we are in Iraq for lofty ideals and they just happen to be one of the leading oil producing countries
