Dismantling the Budget: Intro

An overview of the key points of Chancellor Alistair Darling’s budget and what it means for the UK.

On the 17th of April, The Chancellor of the exchequer Alistair Darling delivered his budget for the 2009-2010 financial year. It has caused much debate over the past few days, some people are hailing it as the new way forwards, some are condemning it and calling it nothing but fantasy.

In this 10 part article, I will be outlining the different key issues on the budget and what they mean for the British public, the environment and the economy. Like everyone else writing on this subject, much of what I say is based around my own opinions and research. If you feel strongly on this subject, by all means read on, but don’t forget to check alternative sources as well!
