Global Economic Crisis: Fact or Fantasy 2
This article continues on from my previous one and describes whether the Global Economic Crisis is a fact or just a fantasy.
The global economic crisis has caused grief for people both in Australia and internationally. Loss of homes and employment has become common as the number of people who seek help continues to grow. What is particularly surprising is that economic experts say that the state of some economies has improved . One must wonder how anyone could suggest the worlds economies have stabilised when people suffer financial hardship as they struggle for survival.
The economic crisis is very real for many families world wide, yet others seem to prosper at the expense of the most disadvantaged people everywhere. Even those people with a job find life isn’t any easier. As fewer people work, the burden of supporting the unemployed becomes greater and more stressful on societies around the world. I argue that anyone who believes the worst of the crisis is over is deluding themselves. It is fanciful to suggest the economic world has improved. Nor can anyone say that it (the crisis) is likely to improve for many years. It could be decades before the experts and the global community can confidently say the world’s economies have improved. Nobody can predict with any certainty when it will become a fantasy as the world prospers again. What is clear is that the average person will probably continue to struggle long after individual, national economies have recovered.
