Parkview Gardens Has Computer Skills Class
We attended a computer skills class.

Jerry Payne, owner/operator of Affordable Computer Repair, Warrensburg, Missouri, taught a free class in basic computer skills to Parkview Gardens residents on November 20, 2009.
Parkview Gardens is a retirement community for low income and/or disabled residents. Most have little or no computer experience beyond playing games. Six residents attended the class and with only three computers available everyone had to partner which made the class more fun.
There were a lot of comments such as: “Look at that! I didn’t know it would do that!”

Skills covered were right button clicking on the desktop, how to change background picture on desktop, how to open notepad, typing a sentence in notepad, copy/paste, and cut/paste. Students also learned how to delete history from their internet to make searching faster.

Everyone agreed that they learned a lot from this class and when asked if they would like more classes, the answer was a resounding YES!
Jerry is planning to conduct classes at least one per month for the next several months.
