Why business is failing the public.

Why does the majority of workers in the United States today feel like their place of employment is almost the same as a prison sentence? Could it be that they feel and in most cases treated that their is no way out!  Trapped or held hostage by the current economic conditions of this country. Most hourly workers are currently facing little options at work, no promotions, no wage increases { In fact in most cases their wages have been reduced just so they can keep their job.} or the ability of self accomplishment for a job well done. With the unemployment rate at about 10% nation wide and even higher rates in almost every major city the majority of those still employed are in a state of emotional limbo in that where they work has become more like a life’s sentence for toil and drudgery. Every day millions of Americans go to work facing increasingly more difficult decisions about their own and their families future. Still today their is this  widespread conception of most employers that regard their workforce not as the most valuable resource but with indignation and if you don’t like it here their’s the door attitude, [With the joblessness rate still climbing the workers today are virtually trapped with little or no option available to look for other employment.] and a general aloofness that is perceived by employees as uncaring and unsympathetic towards their concerns. This is one of the biggest reasons why the American made products from the last 30 years has become inferior to those made elsewhere. Some companies have long since changed management attitudes where employees are regarded as the most valuable component in their industries where each one actually looks forward to going to work and are willing to do a lot more to improve the goods and services that are produced. The Japanese have long advocated that in order to produce better quality goods and services employers are encouraging their employees to go back to school { this is payed for by the employer with tuition, monthly allowance, as well as their current salary} to study a completely different subjects that have no relationship to what their business involves. This in turn provides the business, employers, and the employee the ability to provide different perspectives on how to improve their goods and services. It has worked in Japan and is still widely accepted forum for which their business vastly improve their products. For the past 30 years the United States form of capitalism has gone form quality to one of greed where fraud has occured on an epic scale that brought about one of the worst economic disasters of the past 50 years down upon all Americans and spread like wildfire all across the globe. The United States government instead of rescuing the majority of citizens whose lives, life savings, and incomes that were lost because of the direct result of leaders of industry bailed out these businesses with future tax revenue putting this country deeper in debt that even our grandchildren won’t be able to eliminate if the current way our capitalism is not reformed. What the government should have done and could still do in rescuing the American public is with a massive stimulus program designed to grow the economy as a whole. A basic economic principal is this! ” The more people withe more disposable to spend and pay down debt is the greatest economic boost any society can have.” Since that didn’t happen what should be done now to provide the massive number of unemployed, that keeps escalating, is as opportunity to regain employment. This is accomplished through a massive public works project similar to the WPA that was founded in 1935. The WPA was originally funded by a private investor that donated more than 8 million dollars to the United States government. He realized that the best way to get the economy moving and out of the Depression that the whole world was in is to but people back to work thru a massive public works program. If the government hadn’t intervened and provided the means for the general public to become employed the infra structure that was build as a direct result of this program many of the highways ,bridges, and buildings wouldn’t have been built and the United States would still continue to languish in a continuing economic doldrum.  More than 75 years latter most of what was built by the WPA needs great attention but most importantly with the vast number of our citizens who can’t find work there is a great need for the government to  provide the means and opportunity to obtain living wage jobs. To wait for the private sector spells disaster for millions of Americans whose incomes are not sufficient to exist. Not only that but the tax revenue that is a direct result from people working will not be sufficient to cover all the mandated programs and services that are provided by governments. Today the tax revenue is vastly under funded to cover all expenditures because of the continuing rate of unemployment and those whose wages have remained stagnant or ever been reduced. This also creates a economic domino effect in that more people will continue to loose their jobs as a direct result of under funded programs and services. Only through a government sponsored initiative will millions of Americans whose lively hoods that have been disrupted by the failure of private business to provide stable living wage jobs and to regain a sense of dignity is by working for a modern day WPA program. To repair our infrastructure, to establish solar and wind farms all across the United States and to obtain the abundant natural gas is crucial in securing the nations energy crisis. This is necessary to regain our economic stability and to ensure that every citizen can have the opportunity for meaningful living wage employment and in doing so create the economic expansion, business growth, financial stability and ensuring our nations national security as a result of the governmental sponsored programs.
