The New Great Depression

You hear it everytime you turn on the t.v., read it in the newspaper, and even overhear people at school and work talking about it. WE’RE ALL GOING TO DIE!!! THE NEW GREAT DEPRESSION IS COMING!!! Ok, maybe that’s a little bit of an exaggeration, but we still almost every day hear something about it.

Can It Happen? Of course it could happen. It’s happened before in history. It happened in the 1930’s and will probably sometime in the future happen again.

If It Will Happen In The Future Again Will It Be Just As Bad? It could, but looking short-term depression, I don’t think so. During the Great Depression people had no money to have a house or eat or anything. Today we think we’re in a depression when we can’t buy a $50,000 mercedes, buy the really big house down the street, or buy the 46 inch plasma screen t.v.

So What Is Our Fate Then? Right now we prefer to buy things that we can’t afford using credit. In other words, WE’RE SPENDING MORE THAN WE HAVE!!!! If we keep this up and refuse to change our habits, we’re asking for another big depression and let me tell you JUST CREATING ALMOST THREE TRILLION DOLLARS OUT OF NOTHING IS NOT GOING TO HELP ANYTHING!!!! This will not help anything at all! Creating money that isn’t there causes inflation. For anyone that doesn’t know what inflation is it means that the value of the dollar will go down and the price of things will go up.

Every American should be willing to stand up and say that this isn’t right. Obviously congress and our new president see things much differently. It seems like so many of us have gotten used to credit that it’s not a big deal anymore. Well I’ve got news for you all.

The Borrower Is A Slave To The Lender!

And guess who we’re borrowing from? That’s right China. Do you really think for a second they wouldn’t take over our beautiful country economically if they had the chance? It feels like Obama and congress are both trying to ruin our country right now. I mean it’s common sense to know that if you want to fix something not to do more of what’s creating the problem. Obviously the people who have power in America don’t see it like that.

There Is Still Hope Though! We as americans, thanks to our founding fathers and freedom, have the ability to vote for who gets power in this country. We just need to be more careful on who we vote for though apparently.

In closing I challenge you all to make an effort to tell somebody at work or at school about this. I also challenge you all to be more careful who you vote for. Do not vote for somebody because of their race or sex. Vote on someone you honestly believe is out for the best of our country and who can do the best job helping run our country.
