Unemployment Insurance

The benefits that were.

Have benefits gone down the hill because times are rougher than before? I think that they are but there is more to the story. The government knows all to well that if it holds onto he money you are entitled to, it keeps their coffers full. I will call it greed and a lack of respecting the right of the citizen to his due. I will even mention that it seems like a likely tactic so that ministers likes the fishery one can afford expensive flights and accommodations.

Actually the unemployment insurance title is presently called employment insurance because it is meant to get tie he person off until he is employed. I on the the other hand don’t need to be politically correct because in my mind the insurance benefit a former employee gets might also encourage him just to stay home. In any case the waiting time is a couple of weeks or more and the amount of money used to be two thirds what you would earn which could have influenced unemployed workers to stay home and do what they prefer.

I would not want to see a national plan for benefits because it would treat everyone alike. There are needier cases compared to lighter ones where a woman becomes a single parent with several teenagers, a mortgage to pay and then has to wait several weeks for benefits. A person like that should be treated as an exception and allowed access to funds that she has paid into while employed. I here that there is more red tape involved than when I received unemployment benefits thirty odd years ago, You had to work 12 weeks in order to make a claim.

The problem is while average employees have to out up with longer waits, richer people receive better rates if they becime unemployed. Where is there equality?
