A High School Friend

He was a senior in high school; his goal after high school was to join the United States Air Force, to become a pilot. His girlfriend was in the same high school, but a year or two younger. He had a lot of friends, no enemies that were known. He was involved a lot with other students, regardless of his not so good home life. He was always ready for a new adventure, and was extremely loyal to his friends. He was a good athlete; he played basketball and soccer, and was always up for a rainy Sunday afternoon backyard football game.

Until the day came, it sent shock throughout the community; this handsome, bright young man had allegedly committed suicide. The stories traveled throughout the community and surrounding areas. But, this young fellow had a friend that knew something about the entire situation wasn’t making any sense, and she was destined to find out the truth. Suicide in the bible is known as the worst sin to be committed and is one of the unforgivable sins in god’s rule book.

The story circulating was as follows: The young man drove to his girlfriend’s house to ask her to marry him. She said no. He allegedly drove out of her driveway into the next driveway, where he had a 12 gauge shotgun loaded in his car. He allegedly put the shotgun between his feet, while remaining inside the driver seat, of a Ford escort EXP. He then put the barrel of the shotgun into his mouth and pulled the trigger.

The things that do not make sense with this story to his investigative friend are:

• The young man was very petite, he probably wasn’t anymore than 5’5, or 5’6” tall, this would make it a little difficult for him to pull the trigger himself. Shotguns have an extremely long barrel.
• The young man that found him, within the same time period, he allegedly found his father, dead from a self-inflicted shotgun wound to his chest, and he found his grandmother dead in the bathtub.
• The young man allegedly finding these entire corpses, in this short time frame, had connections within the local authorities through his family members.
• The school district that the “suicidal” young man was enrolled, informed him less than a week before graduation, he was not allowed to get his diploma, because the school had made a mistake with his graduating credits. The school informed him, he could walk with his classmates in the graduation ceremonies, but he would not have his diploma inside his folder.
• When the family asked to put a memorial at the school, in honor of their popular family member. The school rejected the request, the excuse being, they did not want to memorialize suicide, because it would be a bad thing for kids to honor. The family insisted, however, the school refused. The school accepted this label for this young man, which was involved in everything possible within his class, and his classmates. The importance of graduating with his class was so important to this young man, his immediate family relocated, and he commuted forty-five minutes everyday, to accomplish this.
• This young man’s guidance counselor was well-aware of the importance of his graduation, and his goals after high school. He assisted with getting contacts for the Air Force recruiters.

The police did not investigate further, than questioning the young man which found him, about how he found him.

The girl the young man wanted to marry was the young man which found the corpse relative.

The motive is completely unclear at this point. I can’t pin the blame on anyone person, but the facts show a general idea of how things happen, and get lost in the shuffle, providing disturbed human beings to prey on popular, motivated, goal oriented individuals for the simple fact of jealousy, maybe, or possibly the hidden motivation of revenge, inflicted by some dark part of the disturbed individual. Who knows? I don’t, however I do know I will not accept the label of my friend committing suicide. The investigation is not to sugar coat the concept of suicide in any way; I know there are people that cannot handle life. The investigation is to reveal the truth of a situation, and bring justice to the lives of this family. The justice won’t be through the laws of the land; they are understaffed, and some times too simplistic. Justice will have a way of working itself out.

If you have ever had a similar skeptical situation, bring it to the public. If actors can spend millions of dollars to provide a shelter for aliens, then I think I can write some facts about situations that bother me. False labels, drawn from the non-observant.
