A New School Year: The Language for Our Students
September marks the opening of a new school year and also the end of Summer holidays. The class corridors are noisy. The politicians are back to work.
The beginning of the school year is when students start adopting a language either focused on mathematics or on humanitarian studies. The teachers often ask to students to use the official(s) language(s) of the country as a reference. There are places where there is still conflicts with regards to a choice of language to teach in because there are countries from the South which do not want to be dominated by the North according to them. The languages that are now important are English, French, Spanish, Russian, Chinese and Arabic and they are countries which have chosen them as official languages. The problem of the acquisition of a language is important because that is how populations communicate with other populations. Therefore, the populations should try to avoid linguistic problems because after all competition have to remain fair whatever the interest you have in the language.
