Bad Teachers
Bad Teachers.
Ever have a difficult teacher? listen to this. I had a conflict with one of my teacher i’ll call her Mary. I had Mary for a theater class.
I tried to talk to Mary a few times briefly and each time it seemed to make things worse because she seemed to get more irritated with me. She did not seem to understand me.
I met with Mary on October 26 after class. I did not feel like the conflict was resolved. I thought I was compromising by trying to let her know that I notice when she gets upset with me during class. She appeared to get offended and may have taken what I said the wrong way. She did not appear to understand what I was having a problem with.
I am now reluctant to talk to her again on my own because I am afraid that I will irritate her more. I am worried about my grade in the class because it seems like Mary is biased against me. I’m not sure that Mary realizes that this is the impression she is giving me.
I went to see my academic adviser, for help and she suggested going to the local health care center or contacting the assistant dean.
I went to the Norris Health Center and met with the crisis counselor, She suggested requesting a neutral third party to help mediate a conversation with Mary.
I went to the Assistant Dean of the department, and asked for help resolving this problem. He offered to set up a meeting he never did.

Third parties are good. Sometimes there are fiction between two people. I don’t know why but they can never agree. My son had a teacher one year he couldn’t please it was his sadest year ever, It was Kindergarden.

I think you should go back and keep asking him for a meeting, you have a right, you want to talk about things, have the mediator send a letter to the dean, with your requests. What are they afraid of. Keep asking. Tell them you have a right to discuss things. Look in the school handbook for info about your rights and show it to the dean.

Did you ever try to see things from the teacher’s point of view, instead of your own? Try thinking, “Mary had a conflict with me,” and really work the whole scene from that angle. I’m not saying you did anything wrong, mind you. Just that you might see the whole conflict differently if you see it from her eyes. Maybe then a solution will pop up.
You could try doing whatever it is she wants you to do. After all, it’s her class, she makes the rules and you want the grade. Just a thought.
