Brick and Mortar Schools vs.. Virtual Schools

What would you choose if you had a choice between a brick and mortar school and a virtual school, what would you choose?

Brick& Mortar Schools vs. Virtual Schools

If you had a choice between a brick and mortar school and a charter school, which would you choose?

Most would say rick and mortar schools, but yet others would say charter schools. But let’s talk about the similarities and differences of the two types of schools. Some of the things that are the same about the two schools are both of the schools use books, but charter schools are starting to cut down on using books and only give them to the parents that argue for the books.

Another similarity between the two schools is that they have teachers and lots of students. A few differences about the two types of the schools is that in charter schools, the students are allowed to work at their own pace whereas at a brick and mortar schools, students have a set period of time before the next lesson or course. A few other things that are different about the two schools is that in brick and mortar schools, the students have to have recess at a set time, however, in charter schools, students have the ability to have recess whenever they choose unless their parents have a set schedule for their students.

Another difference between the two schools is the subjects, the two schools do have classes, but the subjects are completely different. While charter schools may have AP classes or higher, brick and mortar schools, usually, have courses that are lower than what charter schools, as I stated above. Some charter schools, sometimes, has subject/courses that one probably wouldn’t even find in a brick and mortar school.

One more difference that might be a disadvantage to some students, and to others, might be an advantage is busses. A couple more differences is that in charter schools, students do school on a computer whereas in brick and mortar schools the students sit in a classroom in the and learn things. The other difference that is kind of a similarity is something called webmail that charter school students have on their student profile and is supposed to be used for the students or “learning coach(s)” to contact the teachers if needed, but some students use it otherwise. Whereas in brick and mortar schools, the students could either raise their hand or ask the teacher something, or they could get up from their seats and do the same.

very educational! although i went to home school/correspondence school and enjoyed it, it would have been nice to have the online options that are available today. There are so many resources at your fingertips!
