Children Psychology: Going Up and Up
Children do behave differently and there could be reasons behind, but I do have found some similarities in behaving which are depicted in this writings shortly.
Children psychology: Going up and up
Md. Rezaul Karim, Assistant Professor, Southern University Bangladesh
I have been to Moheshkhali on the Puja Vacation a couple of days back. It was a nice old island where more than 100 thousand people live. Interestingly the population growth in those areas is more than average of the country. My focus was children to watch, what they do in their play time and what they do and behave while playing.
I have found some strange common natures in the children whom I think I observed before too, but not taken that way or seriously.
- Children fond of and love to climb and their tendency are ever rising up and up.
For example- it was a marriage occasion when a lot of chairs were hired from decorating firm for the function. It was not put on a stake, rather set in the open for sitting. When the field is empty, the band of boys and girls, especially kids come in and started playing with the chairs. First and most importantly, I found they all love to hold the chair and stacking them up on one another, till it reaches a height where they cannot leap up.

Next step is to try and find a way how to get up on top of the chair stacks. That’s the fun and play they became busy with. Some succeeded and some began crying for failing, some other keep on trying. When succeeded they became happy, and who could not make it started making another one.
- My second observation is climbing trees. Children really do enjoy climbing up trees like monkeys. Although it is not for all, as it requires physical fitness and courage to do that, more over, parents and guardians do not like their children to climb up trees; it is a fearsome act to perform behind seniors eyes! So, it gives thrill, enchantment of the watchers, and fun and a kind of heroism for the children as well.

- My third observation is while offering them various options to go to beach, market, and hills. They all love to choose hills as their preference. The children who can’t even run well also had fun climbing up hills, and at difficult positions they began nagging for help to get up above! When getting down it is a little bit interesting how do they do it. Simply get down on their back and slow it down the steps, so the tumbling down is saved.
