Classroom Training or Not

Many feel that they need to attend a classroom training before they are able to do anything.

Introduction

Back when we were in school, the teacher provided everything.   All the information are found in the textbooks.  To make things worst, some of the teachers we came across thought us that the only acceptable answer is that they thought to us.  Any other answers are wrong.

Working Life

As a result of this early training, many graduates fail to make the transition to working life.  As a result, many are not employable.  These unlucky souls wait for a instructions and expect to be able to do their work only after they attend formal training.

It is true that some level of training is required for any job.  This is usually performed via on the job training.   Some foundation is also necessary to build on.

The rest are comes from experience on the job as well as natural curiousity – the urge to learn more and to explore.

Class Training

Another thing to consider, is to have some practical experience before attending a course so we have some idea of what is important and also questions to ask when attending the course.  The opportunity to get answers to some of our questions should never be wasted!

Conclusion

We need to keep in mind from Steve Job’s speech is “Stay Hungry, Stay Foolish”.

We need to maintain our hunger for new information and allow ourself to be foolish – that is not be so arrogant to think that we know the best way.
