College: is It Really a Scam
Did you attend a College or University? Did it feel like a waste of time?
College. A scam or is it really necessary? If its up to me to decide it is quite a scam. For the simple fact that, your only relearning what you learned in high school, and your high school teachers said, “We are preparing you for college.”
If that’s the case what is college preparing us for, college. College is really expensive, and once current college students graduate from college we will all need job training anyway.
The first year of college feel exactly like high school and I’m told the second year feels a lot like high school as well. The professors even feel like high school. If you accidentally left your homework in your dorm all you have to do is inform your professor and they’ll advise you to drop in their office before five. Interesting, my high school teacher told me that would be an absurd thing to do. First year college work is bogus. It is pretty much the same exact work I slaved over in high school, studied hard for in high school, and also forgot after I graduated high school, what a bummer. On top of all this, I was shocked to be informed by my English professor that we all forget 80% of what we learn, and if we are going to forget that much, then obviously its not career material. If you are a college student or enrolled in a university, try asking your professor, why, and see what goofy answers they give. That will open up your mind and get you to really thinking. Scam or necessity.
High school was suppose to prepare me for college, but it seems as if during college I’m still being prepared for college. I ask people all the time why do we learn the same things over and over and its funny how nobody can give me an answer. If I don’t need it then why keep drilling it in my loose mind, all its going to do is fall back out once I get my career started. If I want to be a pre school teacher then why do I need to know how to divide polynomials, a three year old can barely count to twenty more less dividing astronomical figures, that make completely no sense.
A Bachelors degree is a dream degree for some but a scam for some. A Bachelors degree is what over 50% of employers look for in their potential employee’s. Once I obtain a bachelors in English, Science, or History, there is still training involved that will involve extra money to be spent, increasing the loans already out in your name. increasing my thought on college as being a big scam, basically to obtain revenue from the American people.
In conclusion college is a scam and it is simple not necessary. The only reason it is necessary is because the government wants extra money, and everybody wants to get a good a job, so the employers are pressured into looking for bachelors degrees, simple as that.

You earn more with a degree, but I agree that college is fairly pointless. I just graduated, and I still can’t even find a job. I’m wondering if it was worth it…

I think that you bring up very valid points but that’s just the way it is. if you want to be a teacher or vet, you have to go to college. To TennisGirl528 I wish you better luck in your job search.
