Cyber School- A Different Type of Schooling for Your Children

     Imagine your children doing their school lessons at home and you do not have to teach them. How is this possible? The answer is cyber school.

      A few years ago my son started high school. We started receiving several phone calls a week from the principal, that my son was involved in a fight. My son did not start the fight but was defending himself, still he was fighting. It got to the point that my son did not want to go to school. We knew we had to do something, but what? That is when a friend of mine told me about cyber school. The next day I started researching it. I found several in my area and my husband and I decided on one. We went with PA Leadership.

     With PA Leadership, we had to take our son to Pittsburgh Mills Mall. That is where their office is in our area, it was a half hour drive for us. When we got there, they welcomed us and we talked about the school. We then filled out the necessary paperwork and our son took some tests for them. These tests that he took determined what grade level he would be placed in. When we were finished, they told us they would contact us and that our sons school supplies would be arriving to our home by UPS.

     About a week later, they did call and told us what grade our son would be in. He had done very well on the test and they placed him a grade level above than what he had been in his former school. A few days later his school supplies began arriving. They sent him a computer, printer, a headset, brand new top of line school books and art supplies. All at no cost to us!

    The books are to be shipped back at the end of the school year, which they gave us a shipping label. The computer and printer are his until he graduates.

     All of his work is done online. He usually logs on at 9am, which is so nice. No more fighting with him to get up for school. He has his school books for references but if he has any questions then he uses his headset. He puts his headset on and puts in a request for a teacher, a teacher will come online and guide him through. This way he gets one on one attention. He can also log on on Saturday and Sunday and do some school work. Really he can do school work anytime he feels like it.

    As far as gym class goes, that is really up to the parents. My son is active, he lifts weights, we go hiking, fishing and he cuts grass and shovels snow in the winter, so he does stay active.

    Besides the violence going on in the school, some people are worried about all the drug activity. This is one way of pulling your child out of that environment. This schooling is also very beneficial for those children who are disabled and cannot attend school.

      There are also other benefits. Think of the money that you will save. You will save a ton of money on clothing every year! You do not have to go out and buy all those school clothes. Of course, you will buy clothes for your child but you don’t have to go out before school starts and do that big shopping spree. No more gym uniforms or backpacks. No more expensive school lunches.

      Cyber School is just another alternative way to teach your children at home. It is the wave of the future!
