Do Teens Read Enough?
Many people debate on whether or not teens read enough and need more help in it.
There are many teens these days that do not enjoy reading and have not found the thrill in a book. The main reasons for this is because they have not found “The Book” that will bring them into liking to reading. Teens who dislike reading have not read a book they enjoyed that makes them continue reading. The reason I can say this is from experience. Many of my friends and myself all agree that they started to constantly read after they read something interesting. Some books that got my friends and I to start reading are popular books, such as Harry Potter, Twilight, Artemis Fowl, and many other books that actually have plots and lessons in them. There are only a small portion of teens that dislike reading.
Their are much more teens these days that enjoy reading and even make reading their hobby. Teens these days have to apply reading to their everyday life. Teens get homework that include research projects, worksheets with vocabulary, many teachers give out material that require students to read. There is an outrageous amount of teens on the Internet as we speak. Teenagers go on many websites such as this one to read and get information. They find articles and information for themselves. They even apply reading when they text their friends. I truly believe that teens are not behind in reading. They just need a good book.

A good book is hard to find. My favorite writer as a teenager was Jules Verne. He wrote sf and other genres. Captain of 15 years is one I liked very much. Also Edgar Allan Poe, who wrote horror and ghost stories is one of my all time favorites.
