Do You Believe Schools Should Have Sex Education?

Should teens have sex education taught in school?

*Teaching teenagers the important factors about sex:

A sex education class is important to teenagers and may prevent them from getting a venereal disease or to prevent a young teenage girl from becoming pregnant. I certainly wish I had been taught about sex education in school because I certainly never heard a word about it from my parents. Allow me to tell you, I was as green as a grasshopper.

Any discussion about sex was prohibited in our home. The only tid-bits about sex would come from friends or students and they did not know any more than I did. When a teen is not taught about sex, they can spend many months wondering about what sex is and what is it all about. It may sound ludicrous to think in today’s society there are girls out there who does not know too much about sex…well, think again because there are still parents out there who does not discuss sex with their children.

Curiosity builds in teens minds:

When sex education is not taught in schools or by parents, many times teens will become too curious and will go to any length to get any type information about sex and they could get their hands on a porn book and become totally confused about the beauty of sex with a mate.

It is my belief, that sex education in schools is helpful to students, because in many cases, parents cannot or do not discuss it properly with their children. Many teens will not have to suffer through embarrassing situations with their parents and other people if they are taught this in our school systems. Sex education classes allow teachers to openly discuss the subject with their students in a way that it is not embarrassing to them and their class.

Students need proper information and tools:

All students should know every aspect about a woman’s female reproductive organs as well as teen men should too. Students need the proper information about how they can become pregnant and what they can do to prevent a pregancy. A woman’s menstrual cycle and when they are most apt to get pregnant should also be made available to them. Every teenager needs to learn about the female and male hormone’s and how each comes into play as a part in sexual relationships.

In my opinion, it is as important for a student to be taught about sex as it is to have health and physical education classes. In fact, sex education should automatically come under one of these studies. When we teach our teenage children about sex and have it taught by a professional teacher who has been trained and studied sex education our children will not all the true facts about sex.

When we teach our children about the sex education, we’re giving them the tools to learn about the consequences of having unsafe sex and the dangers of contracting a sexual disease. It also teach young women to prevent pregnancy at a young age.
