Educating the Educators
I’d like to present this program to all of America’s educators. This is an important program to extend and improve our education system.
In this program, teachers will be given a chance to continue and advance their education. This is for teachers who are very passionate about their careers. For an educator to qualify for this opportunity, they must be teaching one or more subjects for, at the least, five years.
This program will offer one or two year-round classes per teacher. The U.S. Board of Education will pay for eighty percent of each educators’ classes. It will be the teacher’s responsibility to then pay the remaining twenty percent. After an educator’s first enrollment, the opportunity will be available to them every four years after that.
This program can bring better educated and happier teachers into our schools. Therefore, the students can be happier and learn more. Unfortunately, nearly all textbooks are biased, so with better educated teachers, instead of reading from these books as a lesson, they can be used merely as reference.
There are, unfortunately, drawbacks to this program as well. While our educators are going to school, they may not choose to continue teaching for that year. This may cause a shortage of teachers. As the textbooks should be used as reference, textbook publishers may experience a loss.
Over all this program has great values to make our education system in America better. This program should improve the education of our children. Remember, “No Child Left Behind”.
