Education and Today’s Society

Why is education the most important matter in today’s society?

100’s of millions of people around the world are unemployed, because they didn’t receive a piece of paper saying that they have graduated high school.

What we are doing in today’s society is denying people a chance for a better future, simply because they aren’t book smart. Take Einstein for an example, considered the most intelligent man in history, yet he failed out of school.

Now I’m not saying that everyone is an Einstein, but think about it… we could be denying people who are potential world leaders at a chance for a better living. As some of you know, not all people who go to college end up with a promising job, or a better future as schools around the world tell us and our children. Many citizens around the world spend thousands of dollars for a higher education…but for what?

A slip of paper that has your name on it. Today’s society is painting the image in people’s heads that going to school for countless years is guaranteeing you for a great future. Why is it so? What ever happened to getting a job simply because your the man/woman for it. The point I am getting at is, why not change the way we raise our up coming youth, why don’t we put away this useless information that we will never in our lives use again and teach them things that will become useful? Such as mechanics, farming, or things of this nature. I understand that some school is necessary in the world today, but is most of it really needed?

Please post your thoughts and opinions, I greatly appreciate them.

I am a natural born Artist, but I have to get a MA in Art to become something………because employers out there wont give people a chance unless they have a degree

I don\’t have a degree, but I am working on one. I agree that just because you don\’t have one doesn\’t mean you can\’t do anything. However, I do think that it shows dedication, hard work and determintation. Maybe that\’s a little of what employers are looking for, not just the degree.
