Education is Essential to Life

Education happens when a person learns something and puts it to good use. It does not necessarily mean that education only comes from attending school. It can be earned informally – through self-learning or by listening to other people. Everyone needs a chance to be educated. But, it is a must for us to go to formal school as this provides us with a structured environment for learning. As a student, I believe that education is essential to man.

School is the best place to learn anything. The teachers have specialized skills and are better equipped to provide education. Furthermore, the content, teaching methods and strategies are based on science and other studies. Thus, the learner is able to develop a better concept of to deal with work and life situations. For instance, with the technology of the internet, anyone can learn practically anything. Let’s say I would like to learn programming. I can study through the do-it-yourself guides over the internet. But those software or tutorials can not provide me with real life situations and how to attack them. But teachers can. Thus, I would have a better picture and perspective of the programming skills I would like to learn. Some people are not able to get a good education. They are not able to learn much about what they really need to know.

Everyone should have knowledge about what they are doing, why they are doing it, what is happening, what they are saying, why they say it, etc. Everyday we encounter situations requiring us to decide whether what we are doing is correct or not. We should know what our answer will be when someone asks us about something we have just stated; we can answer their question and explain our view clearly. Why? We need to think before we do anything. I’m not saying that people who are not who have not gone to school do not think. I am simply stating that we have to quickly plan what to say and know what we really mean to say before we speak. Making mistakes is something that we would like to avoid. Education gives us the ability to think quickly and logically, consequently minimizing errors. .

We need education because we can help ourselves during an emergency. For example, someone is choking and you are the only person around. You want to help that person. But you can’t do anything because you don’t know what to do during a situation such as that. How can you help? Maybe you should have studied how to deal with. You need to read more or study more because something similar may come up again. But don’t think that you should study because you have to. For me, it should be because you want to.

In our everyday lives we encounter situations that require us to decide or perform something. If we need these in our daily lives, should we have a good education? Remember, education is informative and can help us in our daily lives and in emergencies. For students like me, is there another way to get better at anything if we do not start studying?
