Educational Concept: Modular Schooling System

Education is a top concern for countries around the world. Even so, few seem to question the structural integrity of the educational system. What if we could redesign it? Make it more efficient? Provide more options? Heres some food for thought.

It has been an everlasting debate within the learner’s thoughts. That is, who should really run our educational system? After pondering this query for quite some time, a solution has been found. Our educational system should be run by a systematic structure developed by logical reasoning. This system would start with the fundamentals of education that all people should know. Then when students advance through their education, they will have a more modular schooling option. By using this logical system, independent career options will be available while still establishing the fundamental elements of knowledge.

Back to the Basics

Throughout the span of a student’s new education, the will first have to learn the basic fundamentals of knowledge. These skills will be universal and necessary for everyday life. This will include math, for basic calculations, english, for basic literacy, history, for a general understanding of the past, and science, for a basic knowledge of physics and how things work. The collective gains from these courses will all eventually lead up to next stage in this system.

Choice for Change

The next step in a student’s education will be a system of independent, career based courses that will specify on that persons skills needed to obtain their desired job. Not only will that help that individual quickly become a master in their field, it will also eliminate unnecessary courses, saving time and money. This system supports selective education. Selective education means that people will become more advanced at what they do, which could dramatically result in revolutionary changes in our country’s economic, political, and scientific aspects!

Independence for All

This educational system also promotes a sought trait in today’s society… Independence. Although a complicated form of fall back procedures may be required, the overall system revolves around and independent view of what the person wants to know, while still establishing what they need to know.

All in all, this logical structure of an educational system has shown many positive points when geared towards basic knowledge, advanced career based options, and independence. Not only that, but it may just work out to improve our country overall. Options may need to be installed, such as religious aspects being integrated. Even so, it proves to show that the room for improvement is endless. But that’s exactly what the system is, is it not? A completely logical improvement.

Great article. You have nailed it. Universally our system is a dead end for most. The academics are important of course but the system doesn’t provide sub-divisions for the more intellectual thinkers who become outsiders because they cannot relate to the traditional methods. Public schools are the worst example of your well made point. Private schools give a little more room for rainbows of thinkers outside the traditional box of education. Honestly I gained more of my education by just picking up several books and just read, read, and read. Your article shows a clear problem our government needs to address sooner than later. Economic conditions will not move forward in decades to come without the educational tools needed to thrive and build upon. Thumbs up article!

Thank you for the feedback! Any opinion on my work is greatly appreciated. Also, it seems that you and I share the same views on education. Unfortunately, I forgot to specify that this article was focused on the Public school system. Either way, you seemed to pick it up just fine. I’ll try to recommend this to anyone I meet connected to public education system. If just a couple people like ourselves do the same, we might make an impression for change.
