First Day at College

Success was all that was expected from me and perhaps the fear that people often carry to college is the fear of failure; not that I realized having the same though.

People often have great expectations when they step foot inside their college premises for the first time and it was no different for me. Even so, their almost always is a bit of fear or inhibition that plays in the heart of any college fresher and once again I was no different. There was a wave of expectations that came from within and then there was a burden of expectations that came pouring in from around me.

Success was all that was expected from me and perhaps the fear that people often carry to college is the fear of failure; not that I realized having the same though. The first thing I noticed entering my college was that my classroom was too small and there was a sports ground to glance down the window panes that was simply too huge. Hordes of girls and boys had poured in on that ground and plenty there were not remotely connected to sports.

I wanted to go there but refrained for the moment. My classroom was small but it was nice; I hadn’t noticed earlier. New faces were aplenty inside the class as well and yet everyone was full of welcoming warmth. The professor came in and gave a lecture about friendship and about how college can change people; I would like to believe that it changed me for good.
