Thinking about college? How about going online?

It took me a long time to gather enough courage to send in one of those online submissions for on on-line college. I had a lot holding me back I thought that maybe I was to old for college courses, or maybe I simply had forgotten how to learn over the past 20 years that I had been out of the school scene.

I am 42 years old and I have worked in a factory for 12 of the last years. I think that at times the fact that I was a factory worker helped with my procrastination. I often felt that my work was so mind numbing; that I did not believe that I had the smarts for school any longer.

I probably would never have taken the final step to go back to college if it had not been for the economy. I became unemployed because the business I worked for started having huge layoffs because they are hurting and can no longer afford to employ so many people.

I soon discovered that the economy has made it very hard for the average person to find jobs; like I had before. The time of the factory worker in this country seems to be back sliding. I spent a very long time looking for work and nothing set me apart from anyone else that was looking for work. I came to a point where I did not even know where to apply for work any longer. All the workers who were working were staying put at jobs they hated because they were afraid that nothing else is out there for them.

I signed up for college because I have to find a way to set myself apart from the other people that were fighting for a way to get back to work.

Believe me signing up for an online college or university is not hard. Once you send a request for information. The calls and emails will start rolling in. The biggest problem will be to chose a school that is a good fit for you after all no two schools are equal and you will have to weed out the ones that are not a good fit for you.

Then once you have decided on a school, they walk you through all the enrollment paperwork right over your computer. They even help you with the financial aid, so it is all really easy and stress free.

Here is where I talk about quality of education. The question most people are thinking is this, Is an online school as good as an on campus school? Why wouldn’t they be. They are accredited by the same institutions that regular on site campuses are. The thing is that even the regular schools are not all the same or equal. I have come to find that for the self motivated student the on line campus is in many ways superior to some schools that I have heard about. Every school and every teacher is different. I have come to find that my online teachers seem to be better than other teachers I have come into contact with.

If you have any desire to go back to college please take a few minutes and send in one of those adds you see on the internet. Just let a few colleges talk to you and see what they have to offer. Do not wait it does not get any easier.
