Home Schooling Response

     In the past few months, the issue of home schooling our children has been under society’s attack.  There are many who view home schooling as not being educational.  There are many that believe parents of home schooled children are not equipped with the proper teaching credentials to educate their children.  There are some education skeptics that believe the parent should not be in total control of their child’s educating process.  These skeptics believe educating should be left up to the teachers of the public school system.  

     There are several reasons that parents may choose to pull their children from public schooling.  Sometimes an issue of bullying or harassment is the matter of concern that results in home schooling.  Sometimes the issue is safety.  How much weapon control is there in public schools today?  There is also the ongoing threat of drugs in our schools which seems to grow worse each year.

     Several fine home schooling programs are offered across the country.  Some of these programs are even accessible through public schools.  Some are available online only.  Many programs are offered to students tuition free while others require a small fee for enrollment.  The ideas of home schooling should not be shunned from society.  Home schooling programs do offer our children a vital chance to receive a good education in a safe, monitored environment in the comfort of our homes.  Schedules are flexible and courses are informative and educational.

     Home schooling is an eucational issue that deserves to be more than just tolerated.  It should be praised and commended.  Teachers, students, and learning coaches are worthy of our respect.  Without the benefits offered through home schooling, there are many children who may give up on school and drop out of their neighborhood public schools.  Education is an important key to success in life.  Don’t let ignorance guide your path.  Knowledge is power and it needs to be nurtured.
