Homeschooling Can Work for You

The joys of homeschooling.

When I decided to homeschool, my son, was having a time. I  knew I did not need to put him on medicine because when he was home or in church, he sat still without direction. What was it about school that caused him to be restless and unproductive? I don’t know. I do know that I found out how easy it is to homeschool my sons. You choose your curriculum, and you could be homeschooling in as little as two days. I live in N.C. I sent in a copy of my high school diploma, the information sheet from the website, and then next day I was considered a school. It was that easy. My son loves it. If he doesn’t get something, we can spend as much time as he needs on the subject.

My boys also play soccer with the city recreation and parks and they go to the Boys and Girls club up to two times a week for socialization. It works out fine for our family. I will put them back in school, if they ask. They haven’t yet. This is what parents are for. We sacrifice, where others won’t. I figured, “if no one wants to take the time to teach my son until he gets it, that is what I am here for. I am the momma and my son will love learning again.” Now he feels intellegient and comfortable learning. I am glad I did it. In N.C. the high school kids here can go to the local community college and take college classes for free.  This means public, private, or homeschool. My boys are going to do this. I would tell anyone contemplating between homeschool and public, both are good. You have to do what is best for you and your family, period. Not what is best for others who aren’t going to help you either way. Do what works for your family. For us, homeschool allowed our sons to enjoy learning so they would want to continue learning past high school.
