A Rhode scholar is a person who has attained the Rhodes scholarship which allows him to study at the Oxford University for two years in whichever subject he likes to.
There are around 90 of these scholarships that are awarded each year to students internationally. It is quite a small number compared to the world population and thus makes it so difficult to achieve.

The main point is that the idea of becoming a Rhodes Scholar does not start right from the basics but it starts when you are half-way through it. Yes the point is for becoming a Rhodes Scholar you have to be quite diligent and a good student which of course is something natural.
Not everyone is a good student and many of us try to become but we fail. Rhodes scholarship requires not good students but far more then excellent students. So with this in mind, the first achievement you should have before you even think about becoming a Rhodes Scholar is you should be a great academic person.
Your first step to getting a Rhodes Scholarship would be to of course apply for it. You can apply on their website (rhodesscholar.org). However before you do so, make sure you have a good record in your high school or undergraduate degree. Once you have applied and if you are near to qualifying, a representative will get in touch with you who would guide you through the process.
You can also find some tutors or guide books that can help with your application and examination process. Make sure you go to an authentic source. Not many of them are that qualified. The representative can guide you as to which books and tutors can be of help.
However at the end of the day, its you who’s going to win the scholarship, therefore your approach should be very effective and very persuasive. They should see the right candidate in you as they will be investing a lot of time and money on you.
